ORPHANAGE PROJECT IN MYANMAR

In 2009 while traveling around Myanmar we stumbled upon a destitute orphanage.  The monk in charge explained to us that the children had been orphaned when Hurricane Nargis killed over 100000 people in 2008. Our hearts went out to them and we decided that we would start fundraising through Hibernia to help. We committed ourselves to an annual trip to spend time with the children & bring them 100% of all funds collected. Unfortunately the money raised has never been enough and their dismal living conditions were becoming salubrious and dangerous. It was most fortunate that in 2019 while on vacation in Anguilla Jerry & Mary Ann O’Halloran came to dine at Hibernia and learnt about our work  Upon returning to the USA, they helped us to set up our project at the The Boston Foundation by hosting it through their Family Foundation. They committed to funding the setting up & administrations fees so 100% of donations go to Pylone Chantha Orphanage which is now recognised as a 501(c)3 tax deductible charity. It is now our dream to be able to raise funds to be able to do urgent repairs to their home. Your generous contribution will help sustain the children, improve their dismal living conditions, and take care of their most pressing needs. You may learn more about this project at http://www.hiberniarestaurant.com/myanmar-orphanage, or contact Mary Pat and Raoul directly at hibernia.axa@gmail.com
